Sword x Staff Class Tier List (Season 2)

Last updated: 2026-08-23

Community consensus for v1.0.38 (Pocket Gamer, Aug 18; EOG hub; swordxstaff.wiki), re-read Aug 23, 2026. Tiers compare classes at their own advancement step: T1 = starting classes, T2 = Cinder Ridge advancement (Lv. 44), T3/T4 = later advancements gated by server age. Every line is viable in endgame — the ranking reflects farming speed and PvP ceiling, not whether a class works.

S Tier

Name Role Why
Sorcerer (T2, Mage) Ranged AoE DPS Fastest dungeon farmer in the game; trait stat Accuracy, Light/Fire affinity. Community whale pick.
Berserker (T3, Warrior→Duelist) Melee AoE/burst Where the Duelist line "pops off": strong AoE that carries level-appropriate PvE while staying relevant in PvP.
Arcanist (T3, Mage→Sage) Support/DPS Gains damage- and death-immunity windows; the point where the Sage line becomes a top pick.
Destroyer (T4, Sorcerer→Archmage→) Ranged AoE DPS T4 of the Sorcerer path — pure AoE destruction; pick a couple of defensive skills to stay alive.
Dominator (T4, Sage→Arcanist→) Support/DPS T4 of the Sage path; described as feeling like +100 levels on unlock, handles virtually all late content.

A Tier

Name Role Why
Warrior (T1) Melee starter The popular opener: Heavy Slash / Whirlwind Slash burst with Guard Defense survivability. Branches to Duelist or Knight at Lv. 44.
Mage (T1) Ranged starter Slower solo start than Warrior but both branches (Sorcerer/Sage) scale hard; reroll target Water Assault.
Duelist (T2, Warrior) Melee DPS Highest single-target ceiling and the PvP king at T2; trait Crit Rate, Fire/Dark affinity. Slow at clearing dungeons.
Sage (T2, Mage) Healer / buffer Only class whose trait boosts all base attributes; borderline mandatory for guild bosses. Slowest solo farmer.
Archmage (T3, Sorcerer) Ranged AoE DPS Stronger AoE than Sorcerer, but other T3 lines catch up here, so it slips from S to A relative to them.
Conqueror (T4, Berserker) Melee DPS Endgame skills unlock; "insanely strong" in PvP and trivialises most PvE bosses.

B Tier

Name Role Why
Knight (T2, Warrior) Tank Block-Rate trait, Water/Light affinity. Wanted in every guild and the most forgiving class, but the lowest damage and slow solo farming.
Paladin (T3, Knight) Tank Solidifies tanking with more defensive kit; not an offensive class, so it stays B for farming speed.
Guardian (T4, Paladin) Tank / support More defensive and supportive skills; still the best frontline, now more relevant in late group content.
